FOR 30 YEARS
PARTNER SHIP DESIGN was founded in early 1991 by Kai Bunge and Siegfried Schindler. Based on sound experience in ship building and design, the company became known for creative designs, reliable performance, and on-time delivery within predetermined budgets. Its portfolio grew rapidly as the company was involved in the development of new cruise concepts, GAP arrangements and profile design, interior design and supervision up to delivery.
In autumn 2017, long-time employees Silke Förster, Stefan Seidenfaden and Timo Hogestraat joined the founders as Junior Partners and managing directors, preparing the company for the next generation and making it fit for future tasks.
PSD’s headquarters are located in the centre of the port city of Hamburg close to the scenic Alster river.

Through its long-term engagement PARTNER SHIP DESIGN has special knowledge in every aspect of cruise ship design. PROJECT DEVELOPMENT
VESSEL PLATFORM DEVELOPMENT
For 30 years PARTNER SHIP DESIGN develop in cooperation with the owner GAPs before contacting the shipyard.
Recently we designed a mega ship platform for four brands having the same logistic in the lower decks, while the public decks are individual tailor made by us for each brand.
The Costa Smeralda, AIDAnova, Mardi Gras (CCL) and Iona (P&O) are Helios class vessels and the first LNG powered cruise ships.
CONVERSION
IMAGINATION + ACCURACY
More than any other type of project conversions and refurbishments require the ability to harmonize new design creations with existing interiors as well as technical and economical constrains. It therefore requires a profound knowhow in ship building and a strong imagination.
PARTNER SHIP DESIGN has been working on conversions and refurbishments since the early days and in addition to many dry dock projects we lately have been successfully involved in large scale conversions for example Carnival Sunrise (ex. Carnival Triumph) and AIDAmira (ex. Costa neoRiviera).
Starting with an on board inspection we create updated new designs harmoniously integrated into the existing structures. Elevating the look and feel while keeping an eye to expenses we contribute to an upscaled product with improved passenger satisfaction and economic performance.
